The Kimberley Woodger Dance Academy offers classes in Classical Ballet - Royal Academy of Dance, Tap CSTD, Hip Hop Jazz and Creative Movement (3-5 yrs), and Contemporary Dance.  We have three fully equipped air-conditioned studios.

UNIFORM
 
All students are required to wear their hair in a neat bun for all classes or a headband if hair cannot be secured.

Creative Movement:           

Studio Pink Leotard, skirt, socks or tights, ballet shoes preferred.

 
Classical Ballet:                                       

Creative Movement to Primary:  Pink studio leotard, pink ballet tights or ballet socks, ballet shoes, pink ballet skirt. Fairy dress acceptable. Crossovers optional in winter.

Grade One to Grade Five: Studio Maroon leotard, pink ballet tights or ballet socks, ballet shoes, Character Shoes, Character skirt.  Crossovers optional in winter.

Majors: Black leotard, pink ballet tights ballet shoes, Crossovers optional in winter.
 

Hip Hop/Jazz/Tap:         

Jazz shoes or Bloch dance sneakers OR selected dancewear from Sue’s Dancewear – Pink top with either  hot pants, knee length pants or long pants.  Please mention “Kimberley  Woodger” to ensure you receive the correct selection of dancewear requirements. 
                                                                                                                      

Boys:                                                                                                 

Ballet: Studio T-shirt with blue shorts or black tights and white leotard, white socks, ballet shoes.  Ballet students: RAD examination wear.  Hip/Hop – Black Dancecorp singlet and Dancecorp pants, available from Sue’s Dancewear.

Dancewear available at Sue’s Dancewear, Old Cleveland Rd, Carina.  Just mention ‘Kimberley Woodger Dance Academy’ and they will fit your child in the correct dancewear.


OPEN DAY

To ensure the students’ full attention, and to enable the children to focus during class, parents are asked to wait outside during class. All parents are invited to attend Open Day in the studio to view class.   Open Day is usually held on the last day of term. 

ANNUAL CONCERT & EVENTS

An annual concert is held in December each year. Kimberley Woodger Dance Academy is also regularly invited to perform at local fetes and events. This gives the children a chance to display their skills and obtain valuable stage experience and have fun.

EXAMINATIONS/COMPETITIONS

The Royal Academy of Dancing holds an examination session yearly for all ballet students, if suitable.  Students must attend two Ballet classes per week to be considered to sit for their RAD examination (Primary Level & upwards).  Eisteddfods Groups and solo work also available.

GENERAL

Classes run according to the school term to allow for school holidays.  All classes are held on public holidays unless otherwise advised.  Fees are payable on the first day of class each term. Arrangements can be made for special circumstances - please see your class teacher personally.


KIMBERLEY BENNETT-WOODGER ARAD, RADRTS, ATOD aff


Kimberley began her dance training in Sydney, and was fortunate to be chosen to dance on numerous occasions as a child performer with ‘The Australian Ballet Company’.  Kimberley also danced annually in ‘Christmas at the Opera House’ and for many years was a member of ‘The Sydney Youth Ballet Company.  In Brisbane she continued her training and obtained her Advanced Certificate with ‘The Royal Academy of Dance’ and was principal dancer with the ‘Ballet Theatre of Queensland Company".

After dancing in World Expo 88 (Bligh's Follies- Aquacade Show), Kimberley also danced in stage productions in Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, Hong Kong (Dance Captain) and was lead dancer at Disneyland.

Kimberley also enjoyed a successful career in Irish National Dancing achieving, five times Australian Irish Figure Dancing Champion and five times N.S.W. Irish Figure Dancing Champion.

With 29 years teaching experience in Hong Kong (Danceland), Japan (Professional Dance Centre), England (Freelance teacher) and Australia, Kimberley is an Associate and Registered Teacher with ‘The Royal Academy of Dance’ London, and an affiliated member of ‘The Australian Teachers of Dancing Association’.  Kimberley is also a panel member of The South-East Queenland Branch of The Royal Academy of Dance.
